I believe there may be a role that allows someone to discern another person's innocence... but there are roles to kill people as well?
[ he's not surprised, given what was said at trial. it made sense that could be true for shinobu too. ]
She was more likely to tell him than me. But I don't know... I feel that it's not a guarantee. I don't think she would've let anyone take that burden from her.
I received a note the other week claiming someone we suspected from a previous trial was innocent. From asking around, it seems likely that this was from someone with such a role.
[ which seems a logical enough conclusion for him. ]
It showed up in my pocket about a week and a half ago, on Wednesday morning. [ that's week 3 ] So it does not necessarily acquit her of any of the killings after that, even for that Thursday.
[ still, it was nice to clear her of suspicion before then. ]
I appreciate that. The main thing I'm after is how to get everyone home and find a third option to all of this. Know it's easier said than done, though.

Would you confide in me, Phoenix? After what I did?

But I think there's something to be said for people who came from the same competition, I suppose.

[ there's not much of a wait, now. ]
I'll answer whatever you want. But in return... can you tell me what all you knew about Shinobu?
no subject
[ .... ]
Sure. To be honest, I'm missing a lot of details myself, but I don't mind swapping what we do know.

I'm aware that Shinobu killed Yu, but not why. I suspect she did so under some obligation to save us, due to the rules.
[ for as much as he feels about her death, he is.. steady when he speaks of her like this. ]
She never told me anything about it, before or after the fact. I don't know that she told anyone, really.

That's my feeling, too. I know it hurt her to do what she was doing. And... well. I know the burdens of being a "role holder", from a past life.
[ so dramatic. ]
Not even Giyuu?

What gives you that idea, though? [ he is curious about the innocence power ]
.... Good point. You do know her better than I do, after all.

Escha. I believe this was in relation to Yu's death, when we didn't know the killer.

You found this note the week after, or later?

Do you know of any other notes in circulation?
no subject
I've heard of one other, but... it's not really my place to say who received it. I will say that I doubt the sender is the same in both cases.
[ so there's probably at least two of these roles...? or someone else out there, sending them notes. ]
I think there are multiple roles that we're meant to ask each other about and find.

[ but hmm..... ]
The sort that are information-based, I'd wager. So we can better knock our heads together.

It's difficult when we have to work under such secrecy, but I suppose that's to protect us...
[ ugh. ]
But I want to tell you all as much as I can. So just ask me what you will, whenever.
